I have just completed my 3 years Diploma Civil Engineering from Politeknik Port Dickson with CGPA of 3.2. For my internship project, I worked with XYZ Sdn Bhd – construction division and I was assisting my Project Manager with Highway Construction Project.

Now, I would like to share something about my family background. We are a family of six members. My father is an Electrical Engineer at Siemens and my mother is a housewife. While, my sister and 2 brothers are still studying in school.

I am a passionate and determine person. I love photography so I am an amateur photographer and have displayed my work twice in the photography exhibitions in the city.

a) During my free time, I enjoy socializing. Going out for a cup of coffee or for some healthy snack, meeting friends. c) Sports are my greatest passion. When I have some free time, I take a bicycle and go for a ride, or hit the swimming pool and spend an hour in the water. I try to have a healthy lifestyle. Considering how much time we spend sitting in work, I try to move as much I can while I am not working. It’s my way of staying healthy, and so far it’s been working great.

The skills and qualities I learned within this role made me a highly organized and proficient employee.


ACHIEVEMENTS

A key achievement of mine during this role was where I took on the additional duties of another office administrator work colleague who was off sick for three months.

In stressful situations, I do my best to stay calm and focus on a solution. For example, when I was the Program Director of .............. at my Polytechnic, I had committee members fail to complete their duty a few times. Instead of panicking, I approached the problem calmly and find ways to make sure the task completed and the program conducted ran as planned. Later, during the post mortem meeting I sat down with all committee members and we came up with a contingency plan so that in the future it wouldn’t happen again. In time, I didn’t have to deal with that type of stress again because we’d addressed what caused it.

I'm not above any single task, and I take great pride in my ability to step in and adapt to any situation to get the best results for the company.

a) Yes, I can work under pressure. Working under pressure is one of the things I had to learn over time. I used to find it uncomfortable when I started. I’m often faced with a series of high-pressure situations where I’m needed to work under pressure, especially during my final year studying at.....I can say that I have mastered the art of performing under pressure without a sweat.

b) I perform better under pressure as I enjoy challenging tasks and finding easy, quick solutions for complicated situations. It’s like solving puzzles for me. During my industrial training, we often have to work on multiple projects at the same time. What my superior has taught me was to brainstorm solution to the problem that we have to face, after that the delegation of tasks and deadlines will took place to avoid overlapping of work. Through this method work done was quicker and we also achieve stronger team support.

c) The pressure does not make anyone happy, but since it is a part of our work life, I have developed the ability to work under pressure effortlessly. I have been in roles that required me to work under a lot of pressure since real-time escalations are always waiting. From working on my day-offs to working extra hours, I have done it all to keep work going. For this, I thank my seniors, who mentored me to handle pressure and stay calm when there is no time to rest. So the answer is yes! I can work under pressure without compromising on the quality of work.

I came up with the idea for a Corporate Social Responsibility program with the local community.
